Mozart, Beethoven,
Schubert, Strauss - some of the all-time great musicians of Vienna. You can find traces of their lives in Vienna even today, and their spirit is still tangible around the city. The Vienna Vocalists are members of the world-famous chorus of the Vienna State Opera and their unique and unmistakable sound result. There are today few vocal chamber ensemble to compare with the Vienna Vocalists joyful sound. A sound that rates among the best in the world and exemplifies top quality.The singularly viennese sound of the Vienna Vocalists is however very much of their own.

Our tour programm is a carefully selected program of operatic choruses and ensembles. removed from the standard clichees, the program with the Vienna Vocalists is a fully staged production that aims to be entertaining whilst still maintaining a high artistic standard. The first half is made up of choruses and scenes from the various operas in the repertoire of the Vienna State Opera. The staging, with 20 singers and piano or orchestra accompaniment, is created and choreographed with larger stages in mind. The first act finale is made up of men's choruses and ensembles, with or without solo singers, climaxing with Strauss's " Blue Danube Waltz".
The second half opens with a selection of "operatic parodies", an almost forgotten, but delightful form of musical enjoyment. To close, the 10 ladies of the Vienna Vocalists appear, introducing the operetta content of the program, leading to the final including a fiery czardas and a traditional viennese waltz.

In concert, the Vienna Vocalists also display their versatility. From chamber concerts of music by Franz Schubert to celebratory New Years Concerts featuring the music of Johann Strauss - the enormous flexibility of the ensemble is immediately apparent when you compare the demands of the various programmes offered to date. Whether smaller groups of up to 12 singers and musicians or the larger productions with up to 24singers on stage, the result is always pleasing and stems from the years of stage and concert experience collected by the Vienna Vocalists.

Vienna, singing and Strauss

This program includes some of the most famous waltzes and polkas of Johann Strauss. It is interesting that many of the famous instrumental works of Johann Strauss, in their original versions, included a chorus. The Vienna Vocalists have recorded a selection of these works with the Vienna Strauss Soloists, one of the small ensembles of the Vienna Philharmonic.

The authentic Viennese style and the unique, unmistakable sound of this ensemble create an unforgettable impression.

Mario Steller

Born in 1959 in Lichtenstein (Saxonia) near Dresden. After matriculating he studied voice becoming a soloist in various german opera theatres. Simultaneously he taught voice at the Dresden College of Music. In 1990 he moved to Vienna to sing at Theater an der Wien and two years later he became a member of the chorus of Vienna State Opera.

2000 Steller Musicproduction Vienna was founded. The company is furthermore active in the field of artists management, international tour promotion, image and event-video and graphics and printing.
